What do credits buy?
Every AI task in Social Neuron has a transparent credit cost. Here's a breakdown so you can plan your usage.
**Ideas and Scripts: 1 credit each**. Using any of Ideation Station's four modes (Research, Brainstorm, Campaign, Trends) costs 1 credit per batch of ideas. Generating a script for a video costs 1 credit. This is deliberately cheap because ideas are the foundation of content. We want you to brainstorm aggressively without worrying about cost.
**AI Images: from 10 credits per image**. Generating an AI image starts from 10 credits for standard models, with typical costs in the 15–50 credit range and more for premium models that produce higher quality. A photo carousel with 5 images would cost roughly 50–250 credits depending on which models you choose.
**AI Videos: from 30 credits per video**. A short clip on the cheapest exposed model starts around 30 credits. Mainstream models typically run 85–500 credits depending on length and quality, and premium cinematic models can run up to 1,500 credits. Avatar Lab videos (talking-head videos with AI presenters) fall in the same mainstream range based on length and avatar model.
**Analysis and Research: 2–5 credits**. Using the research agent to analyze your content performance or generate insights costs 2–5 credits depending on complexity. This is deliberately cheap to encourage you to use insights in your decision-making.
**Premium Models Cost More**. If you want to use a premium model, the credit cost is higher. The platform shows you the cost before you generate so there are no surprises. Easy Mode automatically selects the best value model for your task. Pro Mode lets you choose any model and see the cost upfront.
**Some features use minimal credits**. Publishing, scheduling, and distributing content to multiple platforms is free. Analyzing performance is free (the analysis itself costs credits, but viewing your analytics dashboard doesn't). The Video Editor is free. Editing text posts is free. You only pay for AI generation.
**Real-world example**: A Starter month with 500 credits comfortably covers roughly 2 short videos, 10 images, and 50 scripts — with room to spare for ideation and analysis.
**Why transparent pricing matters**. You can calculate exactly what your content strategy costs. You can decide: "Do I want 50 AI images or 4 AI videos this month?" and know the credit cost of each choice. This gives you control over your spending and helps you optimize your budget.
